Comments and Concerns on Week 1 of College Football

Is the first saturday of college football just over anticipated day of disappointment? Don't get me wrong there were some fantastic games yesterday (depending on who you were cheering for) but there were also some big disappointments in my mind. I understand most schools have a "cupcake" for their first opponent of the season (UNC vs Elon) but am I the only one that expected more yesterday. Lets start at the beginning there was a great thursday night game featuring South Carolina vs Vandy which I enjoyed very much. Marcus Lattimore was phenomenal in that game with 110 rushing yards on 23 carries it was very exciting to watch. That game was more exciting then the Alabama vs Michigan game which had the primetime spot. The Bama game in my opinion was the biggest disappointment. Not from the crimson tide's perspective but I expected more from Michigan. That game was hard to watch in the 4th quarter. Yes there was a lot of scoring but there was also a lot of down time. It's just not the kind of game you expect with two ranked opponents. Like always you have your upsets Youngstown State pulled of quite the upset against Pitt while the Ohio Bobcats got the job done against   Penn State in a 24-14 upset. Notre Dame blew out Navy and put on a show for the folks in the Ireland. The Auburn vs Clemson game delivered in a big way 26-19 Clemson in the Georgia Dome. Overall I enjoyed week 1, I just wish the game in the primetime spot would have put on more of a show.

Inaugural Post

Hi I'm Kevin McMahon, an aspiring sports broadcaster. I'm 15 years old with a dream and I'm going to use this blog to help me fulfill this dream. On this blog I will give my perspective on current stories in sports that I feel strongly about. With that being said I want to talk about the New York Yankees. My favorite baseball team I might add. As most of you already know Ichiro Suzuki the long time Mariner is now a New York Yankee. Some people think this is a bad deal, they say the yankees don't know what they are getting because of his age. This what I have to say to these people they are wrong in my opinion Ichiro may be older but he's still a solid out fielder which is what the yankees need right now. Plus he's in New York now not Seattle he finally has something to play for he has a fan base that is invested not only in him but the team as a whole. Because of these things Ichiro will get hot as a yankee and prove to be the great pickup that he is.
